IACC - 21st Business Mission to Australia – Meeting with DFAT, Canberra

An important feature of our trade mission program was a meeting with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Canberra. Delegates got to hear from Mr. Ravi K., First Assistant Secretary & Chief Negotiator (Free Trade Agreements and Stakeholder Engagement Division) and Mr. John Watts, Assistant Secretary on how the India-Australia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) negotiations were progressing.

Ms. Patricia Smith, Assistant Secretary (India Branch), Mr. Bruce Soar, Assistant Secretary (Indian Ocean and South Asia Maritime Branch) & Ms. Suseela provided an update on the New Roadmap for Australia's Economic Engagement with India. Some of the key themes/sectors in the updated included Clean Energy, Education & Skilling, Tourism, Agriculture, Technology and Sports.
