IACC – 34th Annual Day Celebrations

A fantastic evening of celebration at the Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce 34th Annual Day Celebrations held on Saturday, 7 October in Chennai.

Ms. Petula Thomas, CEO, IACC moderated the session and delivered the Opening remarks which included the Chambers journey. Mr. Gaven Standon, President, IACC and Executive Partner Ecosystem, Telstra delivered the Welcome remarks.

It was an honour to have The Hon Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives on this occasion who delivered the first special address at the event. The Hon Speaker spoke about the growing India-Australia economic relationships and opportunities for collaboration across sectors. He acknowledged the Chambers leadership for their contribution in expanding the Chapter’s across India and the value it added to the India-Australia economic partnership.

This was followed by another special address by Thiru V Arun Roy, IAS, Secretary to Govt., Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu who spoke about the wide range of opportunities that Tamil Nadu has to offer to Australian companies looking at investing in the state. He also highlighted about the upcoming Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet and invited Australia’s participation as a country partner at the Summit.

The Keynote Address was delivered by the H. E. Philip Green OAM, Australian High Commissioner to India who acknowledged the important role that the Chamber plays in advocacy and building commercial partnerships. He appreciated the outstanding work that our CEO, Ms. Thomas and team have been delivering over these years.

With the growing India-Australia relationship, it was a perfect occasion to recognise Chamber members for their contribution to the bilateral commercial partnership - 11 companies were celebrated for their impactful investments in India/Australia and four successful female founders for their leadership and vision.
