The Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter as IACC) is a membership-based organisation caters the services and advises to members, majorly upon the subject of the promotion of Indo-Australian business, trade, and economic trade relations (hereinafter referred as to as our ‘Service’ or ‘Services’. The Office of the Organization has a registered office at ‘Nawazish’, 4th floor, Old No. 17, New No. 30, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Chennai - 600006, India.

Definition of the terms not defined here shall be derived from the General Terms and Conditions of the IACC website. We understand that you as a user/member (Individual or company) of our website ('You', 'Your', ‘User(s)’) value your privacy and take your personal information usage seriously. This Privacy Policy is made available to you in compliance with applicable laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and relevant rules thereunder, including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information) Rules, 2011 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

Definitions :

Personal Information : Any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with a body corporate, is capable of identifying such person.

Sensitive Personal Data or information : Sensitive personal data or information of a person means such personal information which consists of information relating to-

  • Financial information such as Bank account or credit card or debit card or other payment instrument details

  • Sexual orientation

  • Biometric information

  • Any detail relating to the above clauses as provided to body corporate for providing service

  • Any of the information received under above clauses by body corporate for processing, stored or processed under lawful contract or otherwise

1.  What types of data/ information we collect

1.1 From visitors of our website

The organization logs non-personally identifiable information which may include but not limited to IP address, geographical data, the recorded activities on the website by the user that helps in assessing its behaviour, the minor details of the devices your use, and cookies. This data allows us to optimize our content, enhance your user experience and provide better functioning to our website.

1.2 From Registered Users/Members

The personally identifiable information that our database collects when you register on the website for events or membership, the following information is the data that you provide to us. Information we collect may include personal as well as sensitive information: your name; company name; postal addresses; e-mail addresses; annual turnover, telephone numbers and application information.

This information may be used by us to provide our services, but they will not be shared except as may be required as per applicable law.

2.  Usage of your Personal Information (If provided)

We may use your Personal Information or Sensitive Personal Information (If provision is consented with) for the following purposes:

  • To contact you in relation to your subscription to our service offerings.

  • For conducting our general business and operating purposes, such as the administration, management, and operation of the business, including user-user interaction, and responding to requests.

  • To make the payment process seamless, faster and smoother your credit card details or bank Account details is recorded subject to data retention expiry clause. We retain cardholder information, including name, address, expiry date, and last four digits, but not the actual card number. With your consent, we may store encrypted payment details on Payment Gateway Service Providers for convenient processing.

  • To gather demographic information your IP address is also used to help us identify to attribute the local interest and also to help diagnose problems with our servers.

3.  Third Party Advertising

3.1 Website Operators

According to the data processing agreement with the service provider, personal data is shared with the agency responsible for managing the website and the technical service provider.

3.2 Social media general sharing buttons

Social media plugins often capture visitor information, including IP addresses and browsing behaviour, even if they don't click the sharing button. To prevent this, we use the Shariff method, which establishes a connection between the visitor and the social network when the sharing button is clicked. This method allows visitors to share content without compromising their privacy, as seen on Facebook and Google+. The plugins used on our website namely Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter & YouTube gains knowledge of your IP address and your visit to our website only when you click the button. We are not aware of any possible future collection and utilization of your data by any of abovementioned social media plugins, and we have no control over such actions.

IACC will not disclose your information to any other entity, including its business partners, unless you give explicit consent. 4.  Regular revision of the policy

From time-to-time IACC may make changes to our privacy policy. We retain the right to amend this Policy or its terms and conditions relating to the Website and Services at any time, having the amended version of this policy becoming effective upon posting an updated version of this Agreement on the Website. You are required to check the website to check for any such prospective changes so be made.

5.  Limitation of Liability

IACC (which also includes its directors, managerial staff, employees, officers, agents etc.) shall not be held liable for, and shall in no event have any monetary liability whatsoever, in connection with any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses of any nature incurred by whomever and resulting from use of IACC services, the IACC website, any content available on the IACC website, any downloads from the IACC website, and/or any other reason which is not directly related to IACC gross negligence.

We will retain any collected data for as long as it is necessary to support your use of the Services and for legitimate and necessary business purposes. These purposes include, but are not limited to, enhancing our Services, business matching, invitation for events/initiatives, email communication, addressing technical issues, and resolving disputes.

In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain your personal data, even if you request its deletion. IACC uses industry-standard measures to safeguard your sensitive data such as your credit card numbers or geo-location from unauthorized access, use, loss, destruction, or disclosure. The company adheres to the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and other Applicable laws. While we have implemented appropriate security measure, IACC cannot be held responsible for security breaches or personal data disclosure beyond our control, including hacking, social engineering, cyber terrorism, espionage, or force majeure events.

Also Please be informed that the IACC do not collect any sensitive information which may involve information about an individual’s ethnicity, political, philosophical, religious beliefs, health, sexual orientation.

Unless restricted under applicable law, You have the right to:

  • Access (subject to payment of administrative fee if any), correct, or update your personal information.

  • Request the deletion of your personal information.

  • Object to the processing of your personal information.

  • Withdraw consent for receiving marketing communications.

9.  Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to this privacy policy, including its interpretation, implementation, breach, termination, or validity, shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the applicable arbitration laws and rules. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator, mutually agreed upon by both parties, or in the absence of agreement, appointed by a recognized arbitration institution. The seat and venue of the arbitration proceedings shall be in [Chennai, Tamil Nadu] unless otherwise agreed by the parties. The cost of the arbitration procedure shall be shared by both the parties equally unless other decided by the arbitrator. The award of the arbitration proceeding shall be binding on both the parties.
